Thornwood

These thorn covered tangles of thick branches are by no means exciting or expressly dangerous, but they are rather annoying to get through. Existing mainly in the undergrowth of the Primal Forests under the cover of shade and snow, Thornwood sprawls are a common obstacle of any wishing to travel these parts, but many are unaware of their other useful properties.

Whilst the wood itself is very flexible and able to be carved into various tools and exquisite bows, the bloom’s seed is also a useful alchemical ingredient. If ingested whole the Thornwood seed is deathly poisonous, but if crushed and cooked, it becomes a moderate painkiller and holds mild healing properties. If added to hot water in this crushed state and consumed, it will heal by 1d4 hit points. These properties make it a common ingredient to find in Jakarak healing huts, often served as a kind of herbal tea.
