The Colabrian System
Stats and Substats
When we began developing our own role sheets for Colabria, the first thing we had to think about was what our base stats would be and the aspects we wanted to incorporate. We looked through various games we collectively played in the past and took inspiration from aspects we liked and also from what we wished they had but lacked. With that said, this isn’t the most concise system out there, but we do believe that it has a better balance between combat stats and role playing stats than TTRPGs like Dungeons and Dragons and Call of Cathulu. So I hope you guys like what we decided!

Base Stats
Sanity
Sanity is what effects your ability to respond emotionally to situations that you will face as a player in the world of Colabria. Beware, a low Sanity can easily be driven mad.
Connected Stats: Performance, Courage, Temperament & Wit.
Mind
Mind is what effects your magical power and mental prowess. From willpower to insight, a strong Mind can be sharper than a sword and take down many foes.
Connected Stats: Willpower, Insight, Dialogue & Awareness.
Physique
Physique is your characters physical attributes from their endurance to their constitution, a weak Physique will struggle to stand up to even the smallest of enemies.
Connected Stats: Endurance, Constitution, Presence & Nimbleness.
Sub Stats
Performance
To act or not to act, that is the question… Well, or to sing… Or to play an instrument… You get the point, right? Make it the best performance.
Stat Uses: Distractions & Entertainment.
Courage
Some people can stare down the most frightening of foes without a second thought, they make you wish you too had the courage.
Stat Uses: Fear & Phobia Resistance.
Temperament
Anger flares and sadness flows, it is no wonder so many fall victim to their emotions. Use your temperament to avoid spiralling out.
Stat Uses: Taunt Resistance & Phobia Control.
Wit
Everyone has that one friend with a sharp tongue. Be mindful to stay on the right side of the joke, lest you be swallowed by it.
Stat Uses: Taunts & Madness Resistance.
Willpower
Controlling one’s mind is no easy feat, especially when there is magic to be known. Willpower gives you that flowing power.
Stat Uses: Total Mana & Spell Resistance.
Insight
Lies can be easily caught in the eyes of those telling them. The glint of hubris, the tremor of fear… If only you have the insight to see it.
Stat Uses: Reading People & Situations.
Dialogue
Charm oils conversations like grease, as do lies… Whatever your leaning, dialogue is a dance that one can learn, given time.
Stat Uses: Persuasion & Deception.
Awareness
Catching the blur of movement as an enemy strikes from the shadows is often the only thing between awareness and death.
Stat Uses: Area Perception & Ambush Resistance.
Endurance
Fighting takes a lot out of a person, sure, but so do the more mundane tasks like travelling, best have the endurance to face it all.
Stat Uses: Total Stamina & Exhaustion Resistance.
Constitution
From downing pints of ale to recovering from deadly poisons, none can quite handle it as well as those with a hearty constitution.
Stat Uses: Total Health & Poison Resistance.
Presence
Whether calming or intimidating, anyone who is anyone has something that makes their presence stand out from the crowd.
Stat Uses: Intimidation & Social Prominence.
Nimbleness
Dodge and outrun your foes with ease on nimble feet, it may well be your only chance at survival, dear adventurer.
Stat Uses: Stealth & Hit Chance.

The Points System
All of the Stats in our system work off of a Point Allocation System (PAS). As you level up in your class you will gain points to spend in the Sub Stat Tables linked above, giving you new buffs and traits that will shape your character as your story progresses. You gain an increasing number of points at levels 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. You will also start with some points pre-allocated when you select your Class and Sub-Class. Please note that you do not need to stick to those Sub Stats and are welcome to spend points where ever you want at level ups.
Base Stats work slightly differently. Instead of spending points directly in their table, they are the sum of all points spent in their connected Sub Stats. So if you had 4 points in Willpower and 6 points in Insight, you would have 10 points in Mind.
Mind = Willpower + Insight + Dialogue + Awareness
Sanity = Performance + Courage + Temperament + Wit
Physique = Endurance + Constitution + Presence + Nimbleness
When you reach 10, 15 and 20 points cumulatively in each Base Stat, you gain a new Major Stat Feature which you are able to choose from a list, linked to their boxes above.
