Neola Swiftsong
“I may never lay eyes on the land my folks walked away from all those moons ago, but their stories live on in the songs they sang. That’s the magic of music. It keeps the past breathing. And this College? It’s got the right idea. Helping songs and tales live on past death, strung into the very heartbeat of the world. Sounds like wisdom to me!”
Born to two Teppywigs who had left the Valley some decades prior, Neola has been told many stories of her ancestral homeland. Drawn to the art and music that her parents had brought with them, she started singing from a young age, and playing a lute as soon as she was old enough to hold one. Her uniquely mixed style of pirate-like Camarian shanties and the jolly tunes of the Teppywigs, she was quickly noticed by the College of Music and brought under their wing at the young age of 14. The young Prince, being just a few years older than Neola, grew up hearing her play at the College on his monthly visits with his mother before she passed, developing a shared admiration. And so, when the last head of the college stepped down, Davin’gor was adamant that Neola took his place when she was only 28, making her the youngest college head in history. This makes her take her role very seriously, and her connections to the Princes make her more privileged than most. Some even think she is the closest thing to a friend that the Merchant Prince has.
