Beyun Zen
“In today’s lesson we learn a truly harsh truth. Only those who have endured the brutality of war can truly understand the value of peace. Through the scars of conflict, we learn the true strength of compassion. Gentleness is not weakness—it is the wisdom forged in the fires of hardship, a kindness born from the ashes of strife. Don’t. Forget. That.”
- Beyun Zen, Battlemaster of the Vetara
Raised within the secluded halls of Azra Tempio, Beyun Zen honed his skills under the guidance of the Vetara Druids, a lineage of immigrants who sought refuge after the Great Divide. Through rigorous discipline and years of dedication, Beyun ascended the druidic ranks, emerging as a formidable warrior representing his people.
The Wildheart Concord’s formation demanded resilience, shaping Beyun’s training into a relentless regimen with little tolerance for failure. This upbringing instilled in him a stoic demeanor, mirroring his mentor and other overseers. The Vetara druids adhered to a doctrine of natural selection, valuing traits that enhanced survival and effectiveness. Their warriors, including Beyun, were forged through experience, learning through trials or succumbing to them. Yet, this harsh environment also cultivated wisdom, a wisdom tempered by patience and understanding.
Despite the cold and demanding life of a druidic warrior, one trait persisted in Beyun: an unyielding sense of empathy and compassion. He viewed others as he viewed Sesmi—a being in need of healing. Over time, he became a man of pragmatism and guidance, preferring to offer counsel and solace rather than resort to violence. Beyun prioritizes peace above all, believing firmly in his philosophy, one which shaped him into one of the youngest druids to achieve a leading role in generations.
